I sat down with David Paffenholz , CEO and Co-Founder of Juicebox, to talk about how his team uses Octolens.
He's been on the platform daily for over a year. What started as something he used mostly himself has spread across the whole company — Sales, Marketing, and Product all use it now.

Juicebox grows through word of mouth. That's great — until you realize most of those conversations are happening on Reddit, LinkedIn, X, and podcasts, and you have no idea they exist.
"All of our growth comes from inbound and community conversations, but for a long time, we were in the dark."
The team would stumble on Reddit threads or forum posts here and there, but it was random. They'd catch some, miss most. Anonymous platforms made it worse — no way to track sentiment or jump in before the conversation moved on.
They tried other tools. Nothing quite worked:
- Poor coverage on the platforms that mattered most (Reddit and LinkedIn especially)
- No good way to filter out noise — "Juicebox" is a common word, so irrelevant mentions were everywhere
- Setup meant talking to sales reps or waiting through a slow onboarding
So they switched to Octolens.
Two things clicked right away:
- Instant coverage across Reddit, Hacker News, LinkedIn, and X
- Best-in-class filtering — AI filters plus boolean logic that actually separated signal from noise
- Self-serve signup. No sales call, no enterprise pricing required
"I was able to set everything up myself, fast," said David. "And Octolens' filtering logic was the best we'd seen, especially for a name like Juicebox where irrelevant mentions are common."

And it fits right into how the team already works.
- The whole sales team subscribes to Juicebox mentions. They use them to re-engage prospects and jump into relevant threads
- Marketing reviews sentiment and key posts to gut-check brand perception and messaging
- Engineers and founders read the daily digests too — everyone stays close to what users are actually saying
"I read the full email digest every day," David said. "That alone makes Octolens pretty unique. It gets my attention."
The Juicebox team no longer manually hunts for brand mentions. David estimates replicating what Octolens does would take at least ** 10 hours per week.** But the time savings aren't even the best part. Octolens became their messaging gut-check.

Here's a concrete example: Juicebox originally positioned their outreach module as a CRM. But reading how people actually talked about it through Octolens, the team realized "CRM" wasn't landing. Users described it differently. They rebranded the feature as "Sequences" — a term that matched how people already thought about it.
"We saw people using different terms to describe us. It made us realize we were misaligned. That insight directly shaped our external messaging."

The team runs two parallel workflows:
- **Unstructured Awareness:**Company-wide, everyone reads the daily email digests and jumps in when something's relevant
- Structured Analysis: Marketing and leadership dig into sentiment and post-level feedback, then update messaging and positioning based on what they find
Fast and reactive day-to-day. Strategic when it matters.

One thing David kept coming back to: being able to measure how the brand is doing over time. Are positive mentions going up? Are people talking about us differently than six months ago?
That feedback (from David and others) is actually why we built AI-generated weekly summaries. The Juicebox team now uses those alongside mention analytics to spot trends and track how sentiment shifts week over week.

- Full visibility into Reddit, LinkedIn, and more — including the candid, anonymous conversations you'd otherwise miss
- Saves the team10+ hours a weekover manual discovery
- Surfaces feedback that directly shapes product messaging and positioning
- Powers sales, marketing, and product with daily visibility
- Keeps the whole team close to how users really talk about the product
"Without Octolens, we'd miss out on some of the most important, candid conversations about our product," David said. "Now we see them, and we act fast."
Octolens tracks your brand mentions across 15 platforms in real time. AI filtering cuts through the noise so you only see what matters.
