To help you stay organized and focus on what matters, Octolens offers both default and custom views of your mentions feed. Think of views as saved filters that group relevant posts based on your tracked keywords. They make it easier to monitor trends, spot opportunities, and set up meaningful alerts.

Default views

When you start using Octolens, we pre-load a few views to get you started. You can edit these or use them as inspiration for your own.
  • High Relevance — Curated for action. Includes posts tagged with “Own Brand Mention,” “Buy Intent,” negative mentions about your competitors, and posts containing “User Feedback,” “Product Questions,” or “Bug Reports” about competitors.
  • Brand Monitoring — Any posts that mention your brand directly (tag: Own Brand Mention).
  • Brand Love — Posts that mention your brand with positive sentiment. Great for capturing testimonials and social proof.
  • Crisis Management — Posts with negative sentiment about your brand. Use this view to act quickly and manage your reputation.
  • Buy Intent — Posts where users express intent to buy or switch tools—like “Looking for a [tool]” or “Any alternatives to [competitor].”
  • Competitor Intelligence — Posts that mention your competitors. Useful for understanding market sentiment, gathering ideas, and identifying gaps.

You can also edit an existing view and save it under a new name. Available filters: Keyword, Platform, Language, Tag (e.g., “Buy Intent,” “Own Brand Mention,” “Competitor Feedback”), and Sentiment (positive, neutral, negative). With advanced filters, you can build more complex logic using AND/OR operators—just like filtering in Notion. Every view—default or custom—can be turned into an alert (e.g., send relevant posts to Slack, email, or via webhook). Head to Alerts to learn how to set up alerts from your views.
