You can create alerts based on any of your saved views. Once a view is set up, you can enable it as an alert. Octolens supports three alert destinations: Email, Slack, and Webhook.

How to set up an alert

You can start the alert setup from two places: From your feed — click “Enable as alert” in the top-right of any view.

Step 1: Choose alert settings

1

Choose the view you want to get alerted for

Select a view from the dropdown. If the view doesn’t exist yet, create it first.
2

Check the filters of that view

Review the filters including Keyword, Platform, Tag, Sentiment, and Language. You can also set advanced filters.

Step 2: Select destination and frequency

Choose where you want to send your alert and how often.
Step 2: Select destination and frequency

Email alerts

Select Email as your destination. You’ll receive mention alerts directly in your inbox at the frequency you choose.

Slack alerts

Select Slack as your destination. Make sure your Slack workspace is connected first—otherwise the Slack option won’t appear. You can choose which relevance levels to include. For example, get alerted only for posts the AI deems as high relevance (buy-intent, engagement opportunities, customer complaints, or praise).

Webhook alerts

Select Webhook as your destination. This lets you send mention data to any external app. For full details on webhook setup and payload format, see Webhooks.
